Annapolis An active shooter was reported at the Capital Gazette, a daily newspaper in Annapolis, Maryland, on Thursday around 3:30 PM. (est)
Police said there were multiple injuries and a few deceased but did not elaborate.
police were on scene within one minute of the shooting. The FBI, ATF, local, state and federal police are on the scene.
Officers engaged suspect using a shotgun according to media sources.
A crime and courts reporter from the Gazette tweeted, “There is nothing more terrifying than hearing multiple people get shot while you’re under your desk and then hear the gunman reload.”
One suspect is in custody, a city spokesperson said, according to The Associated Press.
The gunman is in his 20’s and described as white according to police officials and refuses to identify himself to police. We do not know how he was captured at this point. We will post more info as it becomes available. There are multiple offices and businesses in the building where the shooting took place. Shooter identified as Jarrod Ramos.
