Aurora, Illinois An active shooter has been arrested near an industrial complex in Aurora, city officials said Friday.
The city tweeted that the gunman has been taken into custody: “THE SHOOTER HAS BEEN APPREHENDED! The area is still on lock down!”
SWAT and Aurora police responded to reports of shots fired around 1:30 p.m. near the Henry Pratt Company, 641 Archer Ave. Illinois State Police and the Kane County Sheriff’s Office are also assisting.
A police source told FOX 32 that four police officers and several civilians were shot during the incident. Some of the victims were seen walking out of the complex. None of the officers shot were in serious condition.
Two people were transported to Rush-Copley Medical Center with non life-threatening injuries. Police have not said the total number of people shot.
The White House says President Donald Trump has been briefed on the shooting and is monitoring the situation.
Spokesman Sarah Sanders issued her statement Friday as Trump prepared to depart for a weekend trip to his home in Palm Beach, Florida.
