NYPD Seeking Help In locating Midwood Mugging Suspect

BROOKLYN       The New York City Police Department is asking the public’s assistance identifying the individual depicted in the attached surveillance video in connection to a brutal mugging and robbery that occurred within the confines of the 70 Precinct. Details are as follows:

It was reported to police that on Friday, June 24, 2019, at 12:47 P.M. in front of 1116 East 21st Street, an 88-year-old female victim was walking at the location when she was approached from behind by an unknown male individual who pushed the female to the ground and forcibly removed a necklace from around her neck. The individual then fled on foot to parts unknown. EMS responded and transported the victim to New York Community hospital for minor pain and bruising resulting from the fall. The victim’s property had an estimated value of $900.

The individual is described as male Black, 30-40 years of age, last seen wearing a burgundy sweat jacket and dark pants.
