2:00 AM An NYPD officer is in critical condition after being shot in the face while sitting in a police vehicle in the Bronx early Wednesday, according to police sources.
The shooting took place near 183rd St. and Morris Ave. around 12:30 a.m., sources said.
“Shots fired!” a frantic officer can be heard shouting into his police radio moments after the shots rang out.
An innocent bystander was also shot in the stomach, sources said.
The suspect was killed and another person was in custody at the 46th Precinct stationhouse, according to NY Daily News.
