Midwood- Brooklyn, NY A teenager was repeatedly stabbed outside a Brooklyn 7-Eleven store Monday afternoon and then staggered across the street and begged pedestrians to call 911 as blood gushed from his chest witnesses told GifterInGotham.
The fight and stabbing attack unfolded around 4 p.m. on Ave. M near E. 17th St. in Midwood, just down the block from Edward R. Murrow High School.
“He was screaming, ‘Please call 911! Please call 911!’ He collapsed in a chair,” witnesses said. “He took his shirt off and the blood sprayed all over the restaurant. It was too much blood.”
Hatzolah volunteers rushed the 17-year-old victim to Maimonides Medical Center in critical condition.
Video shows two men and a female leaving the scene. The woman took the knife from the stabber and the stabber possibly has cuts to his own hand.
The teen died at Maimonides hospital and is identified as Rohan Burke of Fillmore Avenue in Marine Park, Brooklyn.
Authorities say Burke was in the area of E. 17th Street and Avenue M in Midwood just after 4 p.m. when he was attacked.
The teen was then able to escape his attackers across the street. He continued running, as hit by a car when he ran into the street and then collapsed in front of a pizza shop
“He was very panicked, like something really happened,” an eyewitness told WABC TV, “Like your life was basically on the line type of screaming.”
Detectives are now taking a hard look at trying to identify the suspects captured on surveillance video shortly after the stabbing handing off what appears to be a knife before walking away.
Burke was a student at Lafayette High School.
