BAYONNE,NJ     The family of a 50-year-old Long Island man fears a person seen jumping off the Hudson County Extension bridge Monday afternoon is a cousin.

Aqueel Admad told The Jersey Journal that his cousin has been missing since Monday and that state police found his car unattended on the bridge after motorists called 911 to report a jumper.

A dash cam video from a school bus surfaced online showing the bus driving east bound on the bridge at 5:30 PM on Monday July 10, 2017 with a vehicle parked in the right lane and a man jumping off the bridge.

Admad said his cousin left home at 3:30 p.m. to pick up a relative who was flying into Newark Airport from Houston on Monday. But after waiting for some time at the airport, the relative called the man’s phone only to have a state trooper answer it. New Jersey State Police said a phone was found in a vehicle parked in the right lane and unattended on the Hudson County Extension bridge.

A body has not been recovered as of Wednesday afternoon July 12, 2017
