LONG BRANCH, N.J. (CBSNewYork/AP/GifterInGotham) — A 16-year-old boy is in custody after authorities said his parents, sister and a family friend were found shot and killed inside their Long Branch home.
Monmouth County Prosecutor Chris Gramiccioni said Monday the teenager is expected to face four counts of murder and other charges in the shooting deaths of his parents, Steven and Linda Kologi, 44 and 42 respectively, his 18-year-old sister, Brittany, and 70-year-old Mary Schultz, who lived with the family.
Police responded to a call about shots fired shortly before midnight Sunday on Wall Street. When officers arrived, authorities said they found the four victims dead inside. The suspect’s grandfather and brother were not harmed.
The teen was taken into custody without and police said the shooting appears to stem from a domestic incident.

UPDATE 3:15 a.m. EST — WRC-TV reported the teenager was expected to be charged for killing four family members, including his mother and grandmother. The other two killed were a juvenile female and an adult male. Their relationship to the 16-year-old suspect, however, was not clear.
UPDATE 2:22 a.m. EST: Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office tweeted saying 4 people were dead in an isolated domestic incident and there was no threat to the public.
UPDATE 2:19 a.m. EST — NBC news affiliate WRC-TV citing law enforcement sources said 4 people died in the shooting. The suspect who was taken into custody is thought to be a 16-year-old.
