Washington, D.C. According to officials, the man has been stranded since at about 10 a.m. Firefighters said they were alerted by the man’s co-workers at about 1:20 p.m. and officials believe the man may be suffering from hypothermia and no longer able to remove himself from the structure.
Firefighters’ first attempt to rescue the man was unsuccessful. Officials said firefighters would next try to use a 100-foot aerial ladder truck and their specialized rescue squad to retrieve the man. If that doesn’t work, crews will consider bringing in a crane with a bucket, according to the fire department.
