Brooklyn New Yorker’s have been complaining for the last few years about congestion issues and the lack of finding a parking spot on city streets. The department of transportation has been taking 4 lane roads and making them into three-lane roads and taking three-lane roads and redesigning into two lanes and two lanes into one lane. And if that is not enough, dedicated bus lanes from 7 a.m to 7 p.m. instead of a rush hour only taking up another few hundred parking spaces in local areas.
No standing and or no parking signs placed on street corners has also taken an additional few hundred parking spots away in Midwood. Bicycle lanes anyone?
The agenda driven people blame Uber for congestion and parking woes.
According to Midwood residents, some dealers and leasing companies have been leaving cars on their blocks for days on end. Some residents allege the dealers are swapping around the license plates to fool NYPD into thinking the cars have moved and also say the plates do not match the registration.
Midwood residents have been fed up with the lack of parking spaces and reached out to Councilman Deutsch’s office. Councilman Chaim Deutsch went to verify the complaints and confirmed dozens of questionable and illegal parking taking place in his district.
Councilman Deutsch reached out to the NYPD. NYPD took immediate action by checking license plates and registration. Many cars had improper registration and plates and the NYPD towed vehicles that were parked illegally. According to NYPD, they towed over 25 cars on the first day of operation and say they will continue to monitor the area for illegal parking and enforce ticketing and towing when necessary.
If you have cars parked illegally on your city street call 311 and then call your local councilman’s office with the 311 report number.
