Brooklyn It was anything but banker’s hours last Wednesday evening when a large group of community lay leaders, prominent businessmen, and local politicians gathered to renew the partnership between Bikur Cholim/Guardians of the Sick and Investors Bank. A sumptuous, elegant spread was prepared for the guests attending. This amazing partnership initially began in 2012 when Bikur Cholim’s director and CEO Rabbi Avi Fishof along with Vice President and Trustee Mendy Feigenbaum, introduced its myriad programs to Mr. Kevin Cummings, CEO, and president of Investors Bank.
Mr. Cummings was extremely impressed with the organizations works, particularly the Family Crisis Intervention Program as well as the extensive Holocaust and social services programs. The partnership was arranged with the pledge of $100,000.00 over a five year period. This was once again renewed last week with an increase in funding and the introduction of Investors’ Care To Share program.
Master of Ceremonies, popular radio show talk host Nachum Segal opened the program by discussing Bikur Cholim’s long-standing services and contributions to the greater New York community. At the same time, he lauded Investors Bank for their philanthropic endeavors. Both Rabbi Avi Fishof and Mr. Kevin Cummings were presented with citations from the Boro President’s offices, praising their exemplary leadership.
Mr. Cummings responded by once again applauding Bikur Cholim’s amazing work on behalf of the downtrodden and underprivileged. Councilmember Mathieu Eugene spoke about the beauty of the renewed partnership, as it enhances the city. As a very small token of Bikur Cholim’s appreciation of Mr. Cumming’s extreme generosity, Rabbi Fishof presented him with a silver pushka. All departed the beautiful and elegant event having gained an invaluable insight of Investors Bank philanthropic endeavors along with recognition and appreciation of the amazing works of Bikur Cholim.
